I actually really admire what Paul and Linda are doing today, because not many couples get married in this day and age. They’ve clearly made this commitment for very good reasons, like love, stability, and companionship…whereas in my day you did it because of, pregnancy, a mortgage, or because your father in law was a nutcase.

The one thing that strikes me about Paul and Linda is how much they wanted this wedding, not only to make their union official, but to show off their love and respect for each other to the world. It’s especially poignant because these days marriage isn’t the institution it once was, although, much like an institution, marriage does require one to be committed.
