Today represents a great occasion for both my parents, being the culmination of many years of planning of a different sort. They have prepared me well, supported me through university, taught me the difference between right and wrong, so that I know which I am enjoying at any given time.

This seems to me to be an appropriate moment to thank my mother and father for being such splendid parents to me. I only hope that Linda and I make as good a job of our married life as they have of theirs. And that all our children are as perfect as I am.
