There are lots of good reasons for a summer wedding. The weather… the honeymoon options… And the price of a hotel room is so high in peak season that it automatically weeds the riff-raff out of your guest list.
In the old days, June was the most popular month to get married, perhaps because it coincided with the time of most people’s annual bath, so the bride and groom would smell their best on their wedding day. Of course, things have changed a lot since those days. I have a bath every Christmas, and on my birthday too... whether I need it or not.
